The San Juan River in Nicaragua host a great number of non migrant tarpon, they
stay around the whole year, is a fishermen paradise. Great scenery, lots of birds in
a jungle river setting.

We are located in the rain forest of the Rio San Juan, at the entrance of Reserva
Silvestre Privada Montecristo and close to the national reserve Indio-Maiz.

Or lodge was build in 1999 for sport fishing, but now we also carter to the eco
tourism sector. There is another fishing operator in town, If you go with him ask to
stay at Montecristo River Lodge. No buts about it OK.
Come to Rio San Juan in your private fishing boat, use
one of our own, or rent a local panga, but come to our
fishing lodge were we have the best service and a bit of
class.
We offer and all inclusive package for angler.

Designed for two anglers per boat. Minimun of two person

3 night,  2 full day of fishing. $500.00 per person.
4 night,  3 full day of fishing. $650.00 per person.
5 night,  4 full day of fishing. $750.00 per person.
6 night, 5 full day of fishing.  $850.00 per person.

Tarpon Fishing Tournament  in Rio San Juan is held in September 12
to the 14 during our national holidays, is a 2 day fishing event..

We can arrange for fishing guides to help you with your boat. It easy
to come from Los Chiles through Rio Frio, check  immigration and
custom in San Carlos. Costa Rica and Nicaragua open the border for
all fishermen during the tournament and make it easy for all to enjoy
the river.

From Feb 8 to Feb 15 we had 3 groups, Mr. Temple and friend they just got one tarpon
each and a few machacas in 3 days of fishing.

Mr. Joe Dimateo from Chicago fought a + 200 lbs for a few hours the first day, and
then he got no fish at all.

Mr. Ed Prasskiewick and friend each got bites, but only bring to the boat 1 tarpon in the
120 lbs range, got some robalos and machacas.

From the 25 Feb to 28 Feb, Mr. Richard Hart and friend they brought two tarpon to the
boat and had a few bites per day, catching a few machacas.

Weather was a little overcast with a comfortable temperature, water condition were
calm.

From March to March 10

Tim Emory and Tom got a few tarpon, but his friend Jerry did not get any thing in 3
days of fishing.

This Morning (03/06/2010) Bill's friend got a big tarpon and two big snook, they will
be fishing tomorrow.

Weather is nice, the sun is out, a bit cloudy, wind are calm and hope a great fishing
week. Our friend Jerry Bubba" and Mr. Brian Gagnon are  coming on the 10 from
Costa Rica, and we which them a great fishing experience.
